Harness Technologies, Inc. (“Harness,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides this Privacy Policy (this “Privacy Policy”) to explain how we collect, use, and disclose the personal information you provide to us or that we otherwise collect when you participate in our charitable giving programs (“Services”) available through our website (“Platform”).
BY ACCESSING OR USING THE PLATFORM OR ITS SERVICES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND THE COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY, DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE PLATFORM OR ITS SERVICES.
Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify or amend this Privacy Policy at any time. All changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Platform. Material changes will be conspicuously posted on the Platform or otherwise communicated to you. By accessing or using the Platform after such changes are posted you agree to all such changes.
Information Collected
As used in this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” is information that could be linked, or is reasonably linkable, to you as an identified individual. You are not required to actively provide Personal Information to visit the Platform. However, your visit to the Platform may generate Personal Information that we receive directly or indirectly from third parties.
Information You Provide
The Personal Information we collect depends on your level of interaction with our Platform and/or its Services. For example, you must provide certain Personal Information in order to use the Services including registering an account with us (“Account”), enrolling in a program, making a donation, or requesting information from Harness. Harness may collect any content, record, or electronic communication of any kind that you may elect to send to us, including, without limitation, your name, email address, phone number, financial information (e.g., credit card number, bank account, and routing numbers), demographic information, and other Personal Information required to enroll in our Services, create an Account, make donations, enter sweepstakes, process your requests for information, or communicate with you.
You may decline to provide certain Personal Information to us, but, if you do so, certain features of the Services may be limited or unavailable to you.
Information Collected from Third Parties
Certain Services that contemplate donations or round up transactions require you to provide Harness with bank account ACH information or a credit or debit card (a “Payment Card”). Bank ACH information may only be used for donations, whereas a Payment Card is required for round up program Services. If you elect to make a donation or link a Payment Card to your Harness account, you will be required to submit your name, contact information, appropriate Bank ACH information or Payment Card information (such as account or Payment Card number, expiration date, CVV number, and billing information). Harness does not, however, directly access or handle such financial information.
When you link an eligible Payment Card to your Account, Personal Information, including transaction information, is collected from your Payment Card Network (such as Visa or Mastercard). By linking a Payment Card to your Account, you authorize any such Payment Card Network to monitor transactions on your Payment Card to (i) identify qualifying purchases in order to calculate and charge the appropriate donation amount on your Payment Card in connection with the Services; (ii) identify qualifying purchases in order to determine whether you qualify for any offers linked to your Payment Card in connection with the Services; and (iii) share such transaction details with us to provide the Services to you. If so requested by your financial institution, you will also be required to provide your consent to such sharing of information.
You may opt-out of such transaction monitoring on the Payment Card(s) you have registered to your Account by de-linking any such Payment Card(s) from the Services or by terminating your Account. For information on terminating your Account, please see our Terms of Service. Please note that if you opt-out of transaction monitoring, certain features of the Services may be limited or unavailable to you.
We may also collect Personal Information from your financial institution and other merchants with whom you conduct transactions using your enrolled Payment Card. We may also obtain Personal Information from various third-party companies (such as data brokers) and other public sources.

Your use of social media is governed by the privacy policies and terms of the providers that own and operate those websites and not by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review those policies and terms. By use of the Platform, you expressly authorize and permit us to post (and/or re-post) on the Platform and our social media pages any comments or content that you post on other social media pages.
We may compile and aggregate all the Personal Information sourced and received from third parties and associate the same with you and your Account.
Information Collected via the Platform
We may also collect information that may be Personal Information either by itself or in combination with other information, such as your IP address, device ID, demographic information, log data, , the characteristics of the device and software that you use to access the Platform (e.g., type of device, operating system, Internet browser type, device identifier, Internet Service Provider (ISP) domain names, records of your usage of the Services (such as clicks, opens, mouse movement, and hover time), and the time of your usage. Such information generally provides an approximate geographic location.
We and our vendors may use and collect cookies (small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive) along with other tracking technologies, such as pixel tags, clear .gif files, and similar technologies, to collect and track information from the Platform, which may consist of Personal Information.
How We Use Personal Information
We may use any Personal Information in order to provide you with information and Services that you may request from us, such as to track purchases in order to calculate a certain donation amount, including round up or percent of transaction donations, to confirm a qualifying purchase or return to match transactions to confirm whether you qualify for an offer or statement credit, to create a record of the transaction information and to administer any sweepstakes related to the Services in which you are enrolled. Harness further uses your Personal Information to analyze Services usage and to improve the Platform and other Harness services, to send you any notices and communications relevant to your use of the Services or your Account, and for general administrative purposes such as market research, project planning, troubleshooting, and detecting and protecting against error, fraud, or other criminal activity. We, of course, will also use your Personal Information to enforce the applicable Terms of Service and any rights we may have under applicable law.
Harness may use your Personal Information to send you promotional and marketing communications, including our newsletter(s). To stop receiving our newsletters or other promotional and marketing emails, please follow the unsubscribe instructions included in those emails, access the email preferences in your Account settings page, or contact us at the email address provided below.
We may also ask you whether you want to receive text messages relating to the Services. By providing your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive text messages from us relating to the Services at such number. Upon your prior express written consent, we may also send you additional marketing messages related to the Services. Third-party data and message fees may apply. Personal Information consisting of cookies and tracking technologies on our Platform are used to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you access or use the Services. We may use this information to monitor and prevent fraud, to diagnose problems, for advertising and marketing purposes, and to support and manage our Services and Platform as described in this Privacy Policy.
We use Google Analytics and its associated cookies and tracking technologies to collect and process information about your use of the Platform. Google sets cookies on your browser or device, and then your web browser will automatically send information to Google. Google uses this information to provide us with reports that we use to better understand and measure how users interact with our Platform. To learn more about how Google uses data, visit Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s page on “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.” You may download the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for each web browser you use, but this does not prevent the use of other analytics tools. To learn more about Google Analytics cookies, visit “How Google Uses Cookies“.
We use Google Ads to serve ads across various websites. Google uses cookies to collect data about your visits to the Platform to generate targeted advertisements to you on other websites that you visit. To opt-out of this type of advertising by Google, to customize your ad preferences, or to limit Google’s collection or use of such data, visit Google’s Safety Center and Google’s Ad Settings and follow Google’s personalized ad opt-out instructions. Opting out will not affect your use of the Platform.
We use third parties and/or service providers, including social media ad networks, to provide us interest-based advertising services. As a result of these services, you may see ads displayed to you on the internet and various social media sites. These services serve advertisements on our behalf that are customized based on predictions about your interests generated from your visits to websites (including the Platform) over time and across different websites. The data collected may be associated with your Personal Information. These advertisements may appear on the Platform and on other websites and may be sent to you via email and in your social media. Because these ad networks operate using tracking technologies that we implement with the Services, you may be able to disable those tracking technologies, depending on the social media site. For example, you may be able to change settings in your social media platforms to adjust the ads that you see.
To change your preferences with respect to certain online ads or to obtain more information about ad networks and online behavioral advertising, visit the National Advertising Initiative Consumer opt-out page or the Digital Advertising Alliance Self-Regulatory Program. Changing your settings with individual browsers or ad networks will not necessarily carry over to other browsers or ad networks. As a result, depending on the opt-outs you request, you may still see our ads. Opting-out of targeted advertising does not opt you out of all ads, just those targeted to you.
We use Personal Information that we collect from any source to combine with other information about you or your use of the Services and link the same to your Account and build out your profile.
We may also use Personal Information to create de-identified and anonymized information that does not identify any particular individual. Such information is not covered by this Privacy Policy and may be used for any purpose.
